Architectural Restoration.

Protecting your Stockton investment.

Premium Structure Valeting

The North East
Conservatory Challenge.

A conservatory is a significant investment for any homeowner in Stockton, Middlesbrough, or Yarm. It is designed to be a bridge between the comfort of your home and the beauty of your garden. However, the North East climate is notoriously harsh on these structures. Between the North Sea salt spray and the persistent dampness of our winters, a conservatory can quickly transform from a sun-drenched sanctuary into a green, algae-ridden eyesore.

At Operation Clean, we specialise in Premium Conservatory Valeting. We don't just clean the glass; we restore the entire structure—including the intricate finials, crestings, and the deep-seated dirt within the UPVC framework—ensuring your investment is protected from long-term structural decay and aesthetic degradation.

Our process combines high-temperature pure water agitation with professional-grade TFR (Traffic Film Remover) to dissolve the industrial soot common to Teesside, leaving your conservatory in a 'like-new' condition that standard window cleaning simply cannot replicate.

Architectural Expertise

Quote By Conservatory Style

Our intelligent pricing is based entirely on the shape and size of your structure. Select your architectural style when booking.

Victorian

Featuring a bay front, steeply pitched roof, and ornate ridge details (Finials & Crestings) that require meticulous high-reach agitation.

Technical Standard

MOST POPULAR

Edwardian / Georgian

Flat-fronted, symmetrical designs with vaulted roofs. We focus on the deep-clean of the internal valleys and external box gutters.

Technical Standard

Gable / P-Shape / Lean-To

Complex or large-scale structures requiring our 4-storey safe reach technology to access difficult gables and sprawling roof spans.

Premium Plus

The Scientific Threat

Why Your Roof Turns Green

In the North East, prevailing winds carry organic spores from tree lines and agricultural fields. Once they land on a damp roof, the colonization begins.

01

The Colonisation Phase

A thin, invisible layer of "biofilm" forms on the UPVC and glass. This microscopic layer acts as a net, trapping industrial soot and traffic film.

Biological Load Low Risk
02

The Visible Bloom

The biofilm evolves into (Chlorophyta) green algae. This is when the roof becomes an eyesore and moss begins to anchor in the gaskets.

Biological Load Active Growth
03

The Structural Breach

If left for >12 months, the algae digests surface minerals. This pits the polycarbonate and can cause gaskets to lift, leading to internal leaks.

Biological Load Critical / Permanent

The Tipping Point: Don't wait for the "Structural Breach"

Once algae establishes a permanent colony under your rubber gaskets, it begins to digest the surface minerals, leading to permanent pitting and seal failure. Our annual valet stops this cycle in its tracks.

Mechanical AGITATION

The Anatomy of a Valet.

We don't just 'splash and dash.' Our process is a top-to-bottom technical restoration of every structural component.

Finials & Crestings

The ornate ridge spikes are magnets for green algae. We use specialised high-reach carbon fibre poles to scrub these peaks, preventing algae from bleeding down onto the glass.

Structural Beams

White UPVC absorbs pollutants over time, turning grey or yellow. Our heated pure water opens the "pores" of the plastic to lift out ingrained soot and traffic film from the framework.

Gaskets & Seals

Algae growth under rubber seals is the primary cause of blown double-glazing units. We deep-clean these compression points to maintain the vacuum seal of your windows.

Internal Valleys

We thoroughly flush the hidden box gutters and valleys where the structure meets your home. Clearing these prevents catastrophic overflows during heavy autumn rains.

North East Environmental Mapping

Postcode Specific Technical Care

The environmental load on your conservatory changes by postcode. We calibrate our agitation based on your local surroundings.

Middlesbrough & Stockton

Urban / Industrial (TS1 - TS20)

Properties in the Teesside industrial corridor face high levels of Traffic Film. This oily residue from emissions requires our TFR treatment to fully degrease and whiten the UPVC frames.

Traffic Film / Soot
Industrial Fallout
Organic Growth

Yarm & Eaglescliffe

Leafy / River (TS15 - TS16)

Being more "leafy" and damp near the Tees, these areas suffer from rapid leaf mulch build-up in box gutters and heavy moss growth on the northern-facing gables.

Wynyard & Wolviston

Open Estates (TS22)

Large-scale Gable-Ended or P-Shaped conservatories in these open estates require our 50ft reach technology to ensure safe access to all panels without leaning ladders on the structure.

THE 4-PILLAR RESTORATION

The Anatomy of a Valet.

Our process is designed to be low-pressure yet high-flow, ensuring a deep clean without risking seal damage.

01
1

Phase 1: Bio-Saturation Pre-Wash

We coat the entire structure in a high-volume mist of deionised water to hydrate and soften environmental deposits.

This "Pre-Wash" ensures that moss and lichen can be lifted without abrasive scrubbing that could scratch polycarbonate or glass coatings.

Phase 2: Intensive Structural Scrub

We work from the ridge downwards. Using carbon fiber poles, we manually agitate the finials, then the glazing bars, and finally the UPVC frames.

The heat from our pure water system acts as a natural solvent, lifting ingrained dirt from the porous surface of the plastics.

Phase 3: The Degreasing Flush

We deploy a high-flow rinse to carry away the agitated silt, organic spores, and traffic film.

We pay special attention to the internal valleys and box gutters, ensuring the drainage system is completely cleared of leaf mulch.

Phase 4: Surgical 0 TDS Rinse

The final step is a rinse with 100% deionised water (000 PPM). As the water contains zero minerals, it evaporates naturally into the air.

This leaves the glass and UPVC with a mirror-like finish, free from the white spots associated with standard tap-water cleaning.

Substrate Specific Calibration

Whether you have self-cleaning glass or trade polycarbonate, we calibrate our brushes and purity to match the substrate.

Self-Cleaning Glass

Photocatalytic Coating

Modern glass conservatories feature a microscopic chemical coating that uses UV light to break down organic dirt. Standard detergents and harsh chemicals can "burn" through this layer, rendering it useless.

Our 100% additive-free pure water preserves this coating, ensuring your glass continues to perform its self-cleaning function long after we’ve departed.

Restoration Protocol 0 TDS DI-Rinse Only
Primary Threat Chemical Stripping

Structured Polycarbonate

Multiwall Construction

Polycarbonate is highly porous and prone to microscopic scratching. Cheap "stiff-bristle" brushes produce thousands of tiny scratches that trap dirt and make the panel look permanently cloudy.

We use "Boar’s Hair" style soft-flocked brushes that glide across the surface, lifting the grey film of algae without ever abrading the panels.

Restoration Protocol Soft-Agitation Only
Primary Threat Abrasive Clouding

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions, expertly answered.

Is it safe to walk on my conservatory roof during the valet?
Absolutely not. You should never walk on a conservatory roof, and you should be wary of any cleaner who suggests doing so. Operation Clean operates entirely from the safety of the ground using ultra-light telescopic poles. Walking on the roof can crack panels, slip glazing bars, and cause expensive internal leaks.
Can you remove the black "Artillery Fungus" spores from my UPVC?
These black marks are often industrial carbon deposits or fungal spores that have "bonded" to the plastic. While standard cleaning won’t touch them, our combination of heated pure water and intensive agitation is specifically designed to significantly reduce or entirely remove these stubborn blemishes.
Will cleaning my conservatory help it stay warmer in the winter?
While cleaning doesn’t add insulation, removing the thick "biofilm" of algae allows more natural UV light to enter. This "solar gain" can help naturally warm the internal air during winter months, making the space more pleasant and reducing your reliance on internal heating.
How often should I have a full structural valet?
In the North East, we recommend a full valet at least once every 12 months. This stops the "Algae Lifecycle" before it becomes a structural breach, protecting your rubber seals and keeping the UPVC in a white, light-reflective state.
Why is "Hard Water" a problem for my conservatory glass?
Tap water in Stockton and Middlesbrough contains high levels of calcium and magnesium. When this water dries on your glass, it leaves behind white mineral "spots" that are a magnet for new dirt. Our filtered 0 TDS water dries completely clear, keeping your windows cleaner for significantly longer.
What is the "Internal Valley" and why must it be clarified?
The internal valley is the structural gutter where your conservatory meets the wall of your house. Because it is hidden, it often fills with silt and moss. If it overflows, water travels directly into your home. We flush these valleys as standard on every valet.
